Manufacturer Provided Description
The Vancouver 34 is every inch an offshore cruiser. The interior accommodation is designed for use at sea, for long periods if required, has good sea berths but still has a comfortably furnished saloon for relaxation when in harbour. The Vancouver 34 is surprisingly fast under sail and high average speeds are possible which can be maintained for long periods: the ideal passagemaker. The Vancouver 34 is a modern "classic" and despite her long keel and heavy displacement is easy to manoeuvre under sail or power. She is first choice for serious cruising. The galley is compact and safe to use at sea and there is a large oilskin locker conveniently adjacent to the companionway. The huge chart table has plenty of space for the installation of any amount of instrumentation and there are purpose made stowages for pilot books and charts. Under sail the Vancouver 34 has a light helm and is perfectly balanced in any wind strength, making it easy work for the helmsman or self steering gear. The standing rigging is strong (some say over specified) and supports the cutter rig.
