My Island Queen is a 44’ Tollycraft with 15 foot beam. It is
powered by 2-3208 Cat turbocharged diesel engines. There are
two steering stations with autopilot at both stations. The two
stateroom yacht has a roomy sundeck for extra living space.
The aft cockpit is excellent for fishing and easy access to the
dinghy and water. Rear davits with remote electric winches
accommodate the dinghy. There is also an electric lift crane on top of
the sundeck. The side decks are flat for easy access to the front
deck. Anchoring is with a CQR anchor and 200’ of 5/16”
stainless steel chain. There are two backup anchors.
A new Icom 802 SSB/Ham radio and new antennae system was
installed in 2014. A 30 gallon per hour water maker was also
new in 2014. There is 140 gallons of storage capacity for fresh
water. New VHF antenna was installed in 2015. There are
VHF radios in the flybridge and the Saloon. Bottom paint was
completely removed in 2015, bottom epoxy coated, and new antifouling paint
was applied.
Fuel consumption is stated by Tollycraft to be 18 gph at 2500
RPM which provides about a speed of 17 to 18 knots. We have
documented at a cruising speed of 8 to 9 knots, the fuel
consumption is about 6 gallons per hour with both engines
running.
Interior:
There are 2 staterooms with heads and shower in aft head.
Saloon in center with freestanding furniture.
Galley forward of saloon two steps down with 3 burner electric
stove with oven, microwave, icemaker, and energy efficient 12
volt or 110 volt fridge with freezer. Second
refrigerator/freezer and clothes washer in saloon for extended
cruising.
V-berth has head, lots of storage and closet.
Aft stateroom has walk around queen bed, 2 closets, lots of
storage and head with separate shower.
LED lighting has been installed through out.
Air conditioning is provided by two built-in units.
Exterior:
A new hard top was installed in 2016. The cover extends over
the walkways below for extra shade and dryer conditions on
boat. There is a full enclosure with good visibility.
The sundeck also has a hardtop and full enclosure with
freestanding furniture and LPG Barbeque grill with burner.
The aft cockpit is roomy and provides access to the swim
platform with stainless steel fold down swim ladder for easy
water access. Hot and cold shower is in the aft cockpit.
Electrical:
The (diesel generator was removed July, 2022) under the aft cockpit
and has a dedicated battery for starting.
3 250 watt solar panels are mounted on the top of the sundeck.
Solar power is controlled by an Outback Flexmax 80-amp controller.
The house batteries are 8-6 volt and the start batteries are 2
12volt. The house batteries are less than 2 years old. There is a
Xantrex 3500 watt inverter/charger new in 2014.
Many renovations and additions have been made to this yacht
since we bought it in 2013 with the intentions of
extended cruising. Plans change and this yacht is offered for
sale at an excellent price. It is in good condition and is set up
for self-contained live aboard cruising.
The boat has been stored in a covered slip for the past three years in the Rio Dulce
of Guatemala when not cruising in Belize. Rio Dulce provides
access within five hours to some of the most sought after cruising
grounds and beautiful reefs available in the world, and
hurricane safe storage in the off season!
