CAPRICIA is one of the handsome 54' Alden aft cockpit, keel-centerboard sloops built in Portsmouth, RI at the Alden Yard. She was strongly built to be an "ideal" offshore vessel for a family. She is easily handled due to her electric winches, Leisurefurl in-boom mainsail and electric roller furling headsail system which includes a removable inner forestay. CAPRICIA'S highly experienced present owner has done an enormous six year refit which includes the installation of a new 80 hp Common Rail Yanmar diesel, new composite engine mounts, reworking entire engine room, new transmission, a complete rewiring of vessel with new panels and batteries in easily accessible quarter berth cabins. VESSEL DETAILS

           ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Sleeps six comfortably in three private cabins.
  • From the bow aft there is a chain locker forward, followed by a large sail storage compartment with a ladder to the deck, via a large aft opening hatch. This area has a water tight collision bulkhead.
  • The owner's cabin has an offset double berth with Temper-Pedic mattress to port, with storage lockers outboard and drawers’ underneath.
  • To starboard is a hanging locker, settee and vanity with shelves, locker with bookshelves.
  • Next aft is the main salon with U-shaped dinette to port, lockers and bookshelves above, and a drop-leaf table on centerline with removeable fiddles and storage below.
  • To starboard is an aft facing Nav station.
  • Just forward of the Nav station is a large custom bar with microwave oven.
  • Aft of the Nav station is a head with shower and wet locker.
  • The renovated and spacious U-shaped galley is located to port and just aft of the settee/dinette. Above the sink is an overhead console for dish storage.
