This 1977 Valiant 32 is designed to take you cruising around the sound and beyond and is ready to go right now with lots of storage. Designed by the legendary Bob Perry she sails well with a SA/Displ ratio of 16.05, with the owner on average moving around 5 knots.
After the success of the Valiant 40, Bob Perry was asked to build a smaller, more affordable version during the late 70's. 65 of the Valiant 32's were made, starting in 1976 with Uniflite manufacturing the boats. Like the 40, the 32 is a strong sailing, heavier-built boat to handle all sorts of conditions that the PNW will throw at you.
This Valiant 32 has been consistently refurbished over the 12 years the current owner has had her. On deck, she has a fully battened mainsail, 130% roller furling genoa, 8oz roller furling staysail, with all halyards and lines, including all roller furling lines, coming back to the cockpit. She has an electric windlass with 200ft of 5/16" chain and another 100ft of line. She has an Iverson dodger over her cockpit, with lots of storage.
Going below, she has an L-shaped galley to port with a two burner stove and broiler and a fridge and freezer. The Yanmar 30hp engine is located underneath the stairs, just aft of the galley and was replaced in 2014. There is a nav station to starboard of the galley with the electric distribution panel as well.
Moving forward there is a saloon with two opposing settees with a fold-down center table. The propane heater is towards the forward end of the port settee. Just to starboard of the propane heater is a hanging locker. The wet head has a fold out door and newer toilet and holding tank installed. All the way forward is the V-berth.
