1972 Chris Craft XK-22
Immaculate condition!
Freshwater only and stored indoors / lift-kept
This 1972 XK-22 is hull #72, and was delivered new to Sayre Brothers Marine in Buckeye Lake, OH, one of the earliest Chris-Craft dealers in the country. There were only 230 hulls built of the XK-22 from 1971-1978, making it much more rare than the more popular XK-19, which saw more than 1,100 hulls manufactured between 1968-1977. The current owner fell in love with this exact boat as a child and followed it through several owners on Buckeye Lake until he had the chance to buy it in 1994. Throughout its life until 2010, the boat spent summers in a boat house on Buckeye Lake and has never had bottom paint. The trailer was custom built in the late 90's. The owner moved the boat to Saugatuck, MI in 2010 where he used it sparingly on Lake Michigan. Estimated 200 operating hours since 1994.
Although the boat was in very good original condition, the owner commissioned an extensive restoration in 2018-2019. The hull (including decks and entire bottom) was completely stripped, reconditioned, and painted in Imron base/ clear system by ME Yacht Restoration in Holland, MI. The original Chris Craft 350FLV 270hp engine and Chris Craft stern drive were refreshed by Macatawa Bay Boat Works in Saugatuck, MI. The restoration also included a new fuel tank, new rub rail, new infinity mat flooring, new sun pad (in matched NOS vinyl), new custom full waterproof cover, and much more. No expense spared. Sale will include original brochures, original hull card, and large file of records and parts dating back to 1994.
You will be hard pressed to find another XK in better condition!
