For Sale: Flapper – Classic Six Metre Racer
Flapper, a distinguished Six Metre yacht designed by renowned naval architect Christian Jensen in 1939. Built by Soon Slip og Baat A/S, Flapper is celebrated as Jensen's final Six Metre creation. This elegant vessel was originally sold to Denmark post-World War II and was selected as the Olympic alternate boat for Denmark in the 1948 Torbay Olympics. She was later owned by Poul Ohff and based at Horsens, Denmark.
Flapper’s journey to the US remains undocumented, but by 2002, she was docked in Camden, Maine. In 2003, she underwent a meticulous restoration to original racing condition at Brion Rieffs yard in Brooklin, Maine, under the expert guidance of Jacob Vargish from Pedrick Yacht Design. Flapper reemerged on the international racing scene with notable results, including a 2nd place finish at the Classic Worlds in Flensburg in 2013 and a strong 2nd place at the British Open Classic Championship in Falmouth in 2014. The boat is now stored in Newport Rhode Island, as pictured in this listing, awaiting a new owner.
