1930 Classic Camden Haj Class
The Haj Class (Swedish for Shark) are a 31’6” one-design daysailor / racer designed by Gunnar L. Stenbäck in 1930 and built in Finland by the Abo Batvart Boatyard in Helsinki.
Between 1933 and 1935 a fleet of 25 of these boats were commissioned and imported by members of the Camden Yacht Club in mid-coast Maine, where they were commonly referred to as “Finnboats”
Finnboats raced twice a week in Camden from the 1930’s through the early 1980’s, but sadly there are now only a few left. In France boats of this desing are called the "Requin" Class and they remain popular to this day.
FANCY is one of the original Camden fleet – restored and well-maintained by the same family who originally commissioned her. Sailed regularly, she has new sails and is ready to go.
